Focus areas
We prioritize the issues that are most relevant to our business and most important to our stakeholder through regular reviews of our corporate responsibility (CR) activity and the contribution our business makes to tackling global challenges and food security.
To do this, we engage with stakeholders to identify existing and emerging issues that affect them. Our CR panel then makes informed judgments to assess the most material issues according to social concern and relevance to our business, and sets priorities which are presented to the Board.
Our focus areas have been identified as:
- Access to technology and innovation to improve agricultural productivity and rural community welfare
- Efficient land and water use in agriculture and soil conservation
- Biodiversity, conservation of species and genetical biodiversity
- Product stewardship, for the safe and efficient use of our products
- Greenhouse gases emissions from our own operations and throughout the agriculture value chain, including reducing energy consumption and making biofuels more efficient
- Creating a stimulating work environment where diverse backgrounds are valued, talents are nurtured; and meeting our aim to lead the industry in workplace health and safety.
We outline our approach to these issues on the relevant pages of this website and report performance in our Annual Review.
